Want to help your community? Become a VITA Volunteer. It's the perfect way to create a positive economic impact on our region. In 2011, nearly $3.3 million in refunds were returned to local residents and it's because of volunteers like you that we could do it!
Volunteer Positions
Greeter/Intake: The Greeter/Intake volunteer is the first person the client sees when they walk into the VITA site. This volunteer assists the clients in making sure they have the proper paperwork completed and accessible for tax preparation.
Tax Preparer: The volunteer Tax Preparer helps qualified working families prepare their Federal and State tax returns, using an interview-based software program, with the objective of ensuring that all eligible families apply for and receive the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Child Tax Credit.
Quality Reviewer: Quality Reviewers review returns at completion. A preprinted questionnaire is used to make sure the return was done correctly and the tax filer has all information and copies before they leave.
